Due to forecasted snow, the City of Gretna declares a snow emergency in effect from 8:45AM Wednesday, March 19th to 12PM Thursday, March 20th. During this time, please do not park any motor vehicles, trailers or other obstructions on city streets. This makes it easier for City personnel to use equipment to clear paths for safer travels. Public Works is working hard to plow through the wet and heavy snow!
If you must travel, use caution around snow plowing equipment and personnel. If you live near a fire hydrant, please ensure the hydrant is cleared of snow and is visible.
For more information regarding the City Ordinance and Snow Emergencies, see City Code Chapter 4, section 4-216.
**Please note that dependent on the weather conditions, the snow emergency may be extended**
